Our Approach

Secure First, Repair Properly Second

A broken window or a forced door is a security problem before it is a repair problem. Call the 24-hour line, send a photograph if you can, and we will tell you plainly whether we can be with you and when. The opening is boarded from the inside, the frame is stabilised, and a measured quotation for the permanent repair follows.

We do not quote a fixed attendance time on the phone before we know where you are and what else is already booked. What we do promise is an honest answer, every time the line is called, and a tidy, secure boarding job once we are on site.

We work as a team, not a single carpenter, so the line is more likely to be answered promptly even when a job earlier in the day has overrun. Materials for boarding — plywood, fixings, weatherproofing strips — are carried on the van as standard, so the work can usually start as soon as we arrive rather than after a separate trip for supplies.

What's Covered

Emergency Boarding We Carry Out

Boarded Windows

A broken pane or smashed frame boarded from the inside with exterior-grade plywood, cut to size and fixed to close the opening fully against weather and casual entry. Glazing beads and loose putty are cleared first so the board sits flush and secure.

Boarded Doors

A forced or damaged door opening boarded and braced so the property closes up properly again while the permanent door or frame repair is assessed. Locks and hinges are checked at the same time, so nothing is left half-fixed.

Temporary Securing

Gaps, broken patio doors, and other openings made temporarily weathertight and secure until the right permanent materials can be sourced and fitted. This includes garage and outbuilding openings as well as the main house.

Frame Stabilising

A split or forced frame braced and stabilised so the boarded opening sits securely and the frame itself is not carrying further damage before the repair. We note any structural concern that needs a specialist rather than attempt a fix beyond the frame itself.

Scope

What Emergency Boarding Does Not Cover

The emergency call-out secures the opening — it does not include alarms, CCTV, or monitored security systems. If you want to look at the wider security of the property afterwards, that is a separate conversation — see Home Security Upgrades.

The call-out also does not include the permanent glazing or door repair. That follows as a measured, fixed-price quotation once the opening is safe — see Window Repairs and Burglary Damage Repairs.

How It Works

From Call to Permanent Repair

01

Call

You call the 24-hour line. We ask what has happened, whereabouts, and ask for a photo if you are able to send one straight away.

02

Secure

We tell you plainly whether we can be with you and roughly when, based on your location and what else is already booked that day.

03

Assess

On arrival we assess the damage — the window, door, or frame — and work out exactly what is needed to close the opening properly.

04

Repair

The opening is boarded from the inside and the frame stabilised where needed. We walk you through what has been done before we leave site.

05

Strengthen

A measured, written quotation follows for the permanent repair — new glazing, a new door, or frame work — so the property is properly made good.

Common Questions

Emergency Boarding — Frequently Asked Questions

Is the 24-hour line really answered at any hour?

Yes. The line is answered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. That is a promise to answer and give you honest advice on timing — not a guarantee of a fixed attendance time, which depends on where we are and what is already booked.

How quickly can you board a broken window or door?

It depends on the time, your location, and what is already on the schedule. Call the line and we will tell you plainly whether we can reach you and roughly when, rather than quoting a promise we cannot keep.

Is boarding a permanent repair?

No. Boarding secures the opening so the property is safe and weatherproof. The permanent glazing or door repair is assessed and quoted separately, once the immediate risk is dealt with.

Do you fit alarms or CCTV as part of emergency boarding?

No. Emergency boarding deals only with the broken opening. Alarms, CCTV, and monitored security systems are a separate service and are never bundled into the emergency call-out.

Will the boarding affect my insurance claim?

Securing a broken window or door against further loss is standard practice after a break-in. We can provide photographs and a written note of the work carried out for your claim on request.

Is the emergency call-out free?

The call-out and boarding work itself is charged for materials and labour, agreed with you before we start wherever possible. The written quotation for the permanent repair that follows is free.

What areas do you cover for emergency boarding?

Berkshire and South Buckinghamshire, including Ascot, Bracknell, Windsor, Maidenhead, Reading, Wokingham, Sunningdale, Virginia Water, Camberley, Stoke Poges, and Gerrards Cross.

More than one window or door is broken — can you deal with all of it at once?

Yes. Tell us how many openings are affected when you call or send photos. We bring enough board and fixings for multiple openings on the same visit wherever possible, rather than needing a separate call-out for each one.

Broken Window or Forced Door Right Now?

Call the 24-hour line. We'll tell you plainly whether we can be with you and when.
